Data session activities, Spring 2010

In recent weeks, a number of Conversation Analytic data analysis sessions involving CALPIU data excerpts have taken place.

  1. Roskilde University hosted the Spring 2010 MOVIN network meeting (samtalebanken.hum.sdu.dk/), where, amongst others, data were discussed relating to Dennis Day and Susanne Kjærbeck's project on supervised project group meetings at the international university, and Spencer Hazel and Louise Tranekjær's projects exploring administrative staff - student interaction. MOVIN is the Danish network for researchers in interaction analysis. The meeting was attended by Rineke Brouwer (SDU), Brian Due (KU), Søren Wind Eskildsen (SDU), Spencer Hazel (RUC), Trine Heinemann, (SDU), Susanne Kjærbeck (RUC), Ulla Lahti (SDU), Jeanette Landgrebe (SDU), Kristian Mortensen (Luxembourg U), Maja Sigurd Pilesjö (SDU), Jakob Steensig (ÅU), Christel Tarber (ÅU), Louise Tranekjær (RUC), Johannes Wagner (SDU)
  2. Another meeting between CA oriented researchers was held at Roskilde University, April 29 & 30, 2010. This also included a data analysis session on CALPIU's Administrator - Student interaction data set, with other data sessions focusing on hearing impaired classroom interaction, Skypecast language learning data, second language classroom interaction, international school data, and interactional data from au pair and host family situations. This meeting brought researchers together from Luxembourg University, l'Université de Neuchatel, Newcastle University, and Roskilde University. The meeting was attended by Adam Brandt (New), Natalia Durus (Lux), Clelia Farina (Neu), Simone Groeber (Neu), Spencer Hazel (RUC), Janus Mortensen (RUC), Kristian Mortensen (Lux), Simona Pekarek Doehler (Neu), Olcay Sert (Lux/New), Fee Steinbach Kohler (Neu).
  3. A third data analysis session involving CALPIU data on Student counselling interaction was held at the University of Southern Denmark, as part of The International Graduate School in Language and Communication course on Topics in Language and Interaction. This involved participants from universities in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Lithuania, and was led by Rineke Brouwer (SDU), Dennis Day (SDU) and Esa Lehtinen (Uni of Vaasa).
